St.Gallen Theatre
St.Gallen Theatre was founded in 1805. The theatre is not just steeped in tradition, but has been Switzerland’s most popular for years. The theatre is equally home to opera, drama, operetta, musicals and dance.
Kellerbühne
This cabaret theatre was built in 1965 in an old fruit wine cellar at Müllertor, close to the Abbey District. Around 130 events take place there each year. Theatre, cabaret and musical events are just some examples of what is on offer.
Puppet Theatre
The St.Gallen Puppet Theatre provides a varied programme of in-house productions and guest performances for children and adults. The theatre uses traditional puppets (hand and stick puppets, as well as string puppets), but also open and experimental types combined with drama.
Parfin de Siecle Theatre
The theatre on Mühlensteg 3 is located in the place where St.Gallen’s painter and sculptor Max Oertli used to live. The theatre has gained a firm place in St.Gallen’s cultural life with productions in the Botanical Garden in the summer and numerous plays, readings and musical programmes.
